INERT WW1 German 65mm Casing -1917 dated

Unknown type and weapon. A short brass case, base is numbered 136, dated V 1917 and made by PATRONENFABRIK KARLSRUHE. Width of case is 64mm (at open top). Polished at one time. Has tape residue remaining. Nice markings on the base.
